Gomersal Lodge Hotel

#Blog 4

There's nothing quite like visiting the old haunts from your youthful childhood days! As I made my way to Christ Church, Liversedge and later on to Gomersal Lodge Hotel, a recent venue for a beautiful wedding shoot, I was reminded of the many times I had trudged my way to school during my teenage years. It was lovely to be working back in the area where I grew up, In the place, I had obviously not bunked off school on a couple of occasions to play footy in the park.

I was pleased to see some familiar faces amongst the guests, some who I hadn't seen for 10 years or more. It was a fantastic experience to be involved in capturing an old friends wedding. I had the chance to meet his lovely wife and be part of their special day. I also had a great time meeting their cheeky son who did not disappoint in providing entertainment for  both guests and photographers. It is safe to say that pictures don't lie, so he can't possibly try to deny sneaking off with an entire jar of flying saucers from the sweet station. I was impressed by his entrepreneurial skills as his tried to make himself a tidy profit amongst his friends. He even tried his luck selling his loot to me and my second shooter Nida (If it had been cola bottles I'd have snapped his hand off at that bargain price!). I wouldn't be surprised if I was to see him on Dragons Den in years to come!

The evening was great fun. Our photo booth was capturing the excitement and fun of the evening and it was great to see so many people letting their hair down and celebrating with the Bride and Groom. It's always a brilliant addition to a wedding reception and my lovely assistant for the evening, Kev, made sure it was enjoyed by the children and big kids too!

As I'm looking through the pictures we captured on the day I hope the memories come flooding back for the lovely Bride and Groom in the same way it all did for me.
