It's been a busy few weeks at Danny Thompson Photography which is why our latest blog is a bit late! We’ve been networking with other businesses, visiting some beautiful new venues and getting some fabulous clients on board, including Dan Keane from Minds Matter and Joanne from ABC. I've even managed to squeeze in a bit of family time with the wife and kids whilst they've had school holidays.
It's really important to us at Danny Thompson Photography that we are completely prepared for every shoot, especially weddings. There’s no second chances with The Big Day and the last thing we’d want to do is miss “the first look” from the Groom, the tears on Dad’s face or even ‘That’ Uncle who’s nodded off in the back. A lot goes into preparing for each Wedding Shoot, starting with visiting the venue to scope out the best shots and photo settings both inside and out (in case of the unexpected, glorious British weather!).
The most recent trip took us to the absolutely stunning Hazlewood Castle, Leeds, West Yorkshire. We were lucky with the weather (for once) and the sun stayed for the day which allowed us to enjoy the magnificent grounds and surroundings that hide the castle away from the busy world. On arrival I met with my Bride and Groom, Shelly and Martin’s wedding coordinator, who showed us around the maze of rooms and doorways that would be used on the day. The chequerboard tiles, arcing doorways and huge stone stairways will be incredible for creating stunning wedding photographs! I can't wait!
Obviously the real reason for this little visit was to celebrate my 5th wedding anniversary with my wife,(honest!) I don’t think she even noticed I did a little bit of work! Always Thinking! We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in the Vavasour Restaurant set in Hazlewood Castle. Fabulous service, beautiful food and more importantly a very happy wife!
I definitely feel prepared and excited for the wedding in August this year. Next venue visit, we’re off to 315 bar and restaurant at Lepton, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Might even take the wife, for extra brownie points! I love my job.
